Basic Admission Information

We apreciate your interest in our school and provide this important information to help you to understand our admissions standards and procedures.

The John F. Kennedy School, the American School of Queretaro, emphasizes an American type education, acquiring a second lenguage and maintaining high academic standards for all students.

School-Within-a-School Program (SWAS)

• Is your child unable to pass the english/spanish parts of the entrance examination for foreign students?

• Is your child foreign to the mexican educational system and and culture?

• Does your child meet all other requirements for admission?

If the answer to the above three questions is “yes”, then your child may be eligible for admission to a program designed by the school especially for such students. This program is a “School-within-a-school (SWAS)” where students are taught language skills using the subjects of the curriculum for lessons.

The program has students working with specially trained teachers who oversee their studies and supervise their work in the regular school program. Classes are taught using materials from the standard school curriculum in an individualized program of instruction. Students in this program attend regular classes as they acquire the language skills necessary for success.

There is a special fee, over and above regular school fees, to cover the costs of the program.
