Teaching Staff

Well motivated and qualified teachers from English speaking countries and Mexico collaborate to make the classrooms an ideal place for learning. Our national and international teaching staff is well trained. They also receive ongoing educational opportunities through a wide range of professional development programs designed to ensure that they are current with contemporary practice. They are devoted to providing students with the knowledge, skills and support needed to help them succeed.

There are one hundred and sixty-four full and part time teachers working at the school. All of the teaching staff is fully qualified and certified to be teaching in their profession. The faculty is approximately sixty-four percent Mexican national with thirty-six percent originally coming from other English speaking countries.

Teachers are the key ingredient in the school’s success. They face a somewhat unique situation, in that they are teaching a second language in a community where opportunities for most students to practice the language (English) are very limited. Other students (particularly from other countries) are learning Spanish. For many students the classroom is the only place where they hear or use English, and for some Spanish. Yet, we are an American School providing a U.S. type educational program. The teaching task is to create an English and Spanish speaking, reading and writing community that is successful at its studies. Teachers maintain a commitment to assist all students to realize and perfect their potentialities and to help them to enjoy their lives within the context of the learning environment.
