Curriculum
The curriculum includes language, reading, social sciences, mathematics, physical education, and art workshops. It offers a balanced structure which sets limits and at the same time allows for responsibility and the freedom to explore and learn.
Work on ecological projects is based on strategies which permit teachers to know the needs of adolescents on an intellectual level as well as emotional, social and physical levels. Our school maintains the values of tolerance and respect for oneself and for others. The students are motivated to learn by themselves and to develop a lifelong love for learning and knowledge.
We emphasize the development of the processes of thinking. We prepare the students to enter the International Baccalaureate program in our High School.
Social relations are reinforced through the teaching of "Wiseskills," a values program integrated throughout the school.
Student activities such as the sports program, MathCounts, writing workshops, student council, and the Model UN make this a special place to learn.
Our students are shown how to appreciate the rich Mexican culture and its history as well as to value the importance and influence of the United States. We work to prepare them to contribute as members of a universal community.
Inter-Disciplinary Bilingual Program
Our bilingual program makes children aware of the attitudes, values, customs and traditions of the cultures in which the English language is used.
They learn to use English language and expressions appropriately in a variety of social contexts.
Subjects are integrated when possible, and an integrated, thematic project is planned annually in the spring.
