Character Education

Teaching about values is becoming one of the most important aspects of education worldwide.

What’s it like out there in the world? There is…

  • Security concern
  • Lack of ethics
  • Indifference towards values
  • Lack of a sense of belonging
  • Lack of taking responsibility

Why? Because we are living in a world that can sometimes be...

  • Superficial
  • In a hurry
  • Made up of a different family structure
  • Lacking coherence
  • Permissive
  • Losing the significance of human interaction
  • Losing the significance of the interaction between human and nature

Wiseskills

Wiseskills is a JFK values program designed to build the union between family, school, and society at large by teaching JFK children learn about ethical conduct. This program is incorporated into the curriculum of every section of the school and attempts to:

  • Help students develop and demonstrate good values on a daily basis
  • Wake up the human desire to do good
  • Help students develop strategies to avoid negative external pressures
  • Avoid double standards and practices
  • Help students develop as community contributors that make a difference in leaving the world a bit better place for future generations

SAFE

The School Addiction Free Environment program at the JFK is designed to help students make good decisions about their bodies and give them strategies in dealing with things like peer pressure.

Discipline

School Philosophy

The goal of  discipline rules and procedures is to create a system which ensures that all students are given the opportunity to study in an environment which is conducive to learning and which develops  attitudes in students  responsible for their own behavior.

This implies the creation of a set of behavioral standards that are age appropriate, and in keeping with a sense of responsibility, integrity, and respect for self and others.

To achieve this goal, we need the cooperation of students, parents, the Principal, psychologists and teachers -in general, anyone who is involved in the children’s education.  We must remember that we are the most important role models that our students have.  It is a big responsibility as well as a great opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives.

We invite all parents to become familiar with the policies and regulations of the school. All of us at school, including your sons and daughters, are already well aware of them and work hard to meet the desired standards for behavior.

Principals are committed to being consistent and fair in the implementation of discipline and encourage teachers to maintain a positive atmosphere within the classroom setting. The establishment of an orderly environment that is conducive to learning is a goal that we strive to attain from the very first week of school within all sections of the school.

Zero Tolerance to Aggression

Our school cannot allow, even at the Pre-school level, students to cause physical harm to others. In our experience, when the school and the home work together looking for alternatives to solve a problem, there are quick positive results. We want our school to be a safe place for all students where they can have a chance to feel accepted.
