A Great
Place to Work

Message From The General Director

Welcome to JFK, the American School of Queretaro!

Our school is a place where we work to create a rich learning environment for our students. We want our students to feel competent and good about themselves as they experience our challenging curriculum and face new situations. We want to make valuable contributions to their growth by presenting a rigorous academic program, modeling appropriate behaviors, and presenting a variety of extra curricular activities.

At JFK we believe that with the combined efforts of our staff and parents we can offer excellent conditions for children's growth and development. Students need both guidance and care to help them learn to make the best choices in everyday life.

As the leader of this school community I am committed to facilitate support for students, teachers and parents through clear communication and genuine interest from everyone involved in our students' education. At JFK we enjoy the company of children and their families and celebrate cultural differences in a respectful and accepting way. At JFK we all belong.

JFK Improvement Goals 2009-2010

We know that school improvement has neither beginning nor end. Our staff has determined, through exploration of data from surveys, tests and observation that we should focus on the following three areas for improvement during this academic year. Many staff members have developed plans and strategies to make sure that we improve in these areas. You can help at home by understanding what we are attempting to do and to support our actions as the opportunity presents itself.

1. Communicates the vision and purpose to build stakeholder understanding and support.

2. Increased student achievement in the area of literacy. The specific focus will be upon development of written expression skills in English and Spanish.

3. Implement strategies related to the Character Development theme “Living our Code of Conduct”.
