Welcome Back!

Welcome Back Middle School JFK Families! What a great turn out of families at our back to school meetings last week. It was so nice to be able to give our Middle School families a chance to tour the new building. Some parents were a little nervous about the height of the railings on the upper floors. I can assure everyone they are at a required and approved height both by the builders (Indusa), project management team (Cubica 1000) and SEP.

1. Parents Association Meeting this Friday, September 3rd at 8:30AM in the Middle School Multi-Purpose Room – if you are interested in being a part of the parents association or a representative this is the meeting you need to attend.

2. Uniforms – we understand that the uniforms are sold out right now and we ask that any child that doesn't have the new or old uniform please wear comfortable sweatpants and clothing during PE and have a parent note signed.

3. Book bags: students remember nothing should be left in the hallways in Middle School. Book bags need to be in your class or locker.

4. Cell phones: We had four cell phones taken in two days even after student and parent back to school meetings. Parents please remind your child that electronic devices are not allowed in the school much less in the classroom (not on or turned off)

5. Student council elections will be Friday, September 10th. We have four political parties competing this year to be the new student council:

Soda Pop = Students of Democracy A Progressive Optimistic Party: President elect: Monica Ramirez, Vice President elect: Rebeca Alatorre Secretary: Alexa Burkle Treasure: Santiago Román
The Party = Alberto Cevallos, Rafa Silva, Evan Held, Jorge Aldrete
Teenage Dreams = Mari Fer. Jimenez – President elect, Laura Zaleta – V. President elect, Miki Orihara – Secretary, Alicia Barcena – Treasurer
POP = Political Organization Party = Andres Gomez – President elect, Almudena Mas – V. President elect, Montserrat Vega – Secretary, Mariana Garibay - Treasurer

Best of luck in the elections future Middle School leaders!!!!!!! I am so happy to have all of you with us in the new Middle School building! I am sure it is going to be a wonderful year if we all work together and have effective communication.
