Accreditations and Affiliations

JFK has been accredited since 1964 by Cognia, formerly AdvancED. Cognia creates the world's largest education community, educating a network with more than 25 million students, that guides us in diagnosing challenges and implementing improvements. Accreditation is important to us as it permits our graduates to receive a US Diploma for their studies, offering a wide range of opportunities and possible scholarships for their studies at college and universities around the world. It is also important because it reflects our proud tradition of commitment to excellence and to the process of continuous improvement. Every five years the school welcomes a thorough and complete external review by Cognia that ensures our standards of excellence are maintained.

JFK currently offers all three IB programs (Primary Years, Middle Years, Diploma) for all students from kinder through to high school. Only 19 schools in Mexico are accredited to offer all 3 of these programs. These programs are important to us because IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programs of international education. Through these programs we aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world.

The John F. Kennedy School is also accredited by the Ministry of Education (SEP). The main purpose of this organization is to create the ideal conditions that allow a quality education for Mexican citizens, and our accreditation means that all graduating students also receive a Mexican National Diploma.

JFK is a charter (founding) member of ASOMEX (Association of American Schools of Mexico), which is a group of schools committed to offering an American-style, bi-lingual educational experience. Through this association, our students are offered excellent sports, cultural and academic tournaments and competitions across a national network. Member schools work together in the spirit of sharing ideas, programs, information and experience. We work together to resolve challenges that face us all, and offer professional development and networking opportunities for staff.

In a similar structure, we are also active members of the Tri-Association (the association of American schools in Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and Columbia). In Queretaro we are also active members and participants of ACPQ (Association of Private Schools of Queretaro).
