Main Office

Welcome back!

Whether you traveled or spent your time at home, we hope you had an enjoyable Semana Santa vacation.
The time between now until the end of the school year will go by quickly, and there are a lot of activities and events planned in all sections of the school. This is a good opportunity to talk with your child about his/her intentions for ending the school year strong academically. Setting and celebrating the achievement of goals is a powerful way to teach children responsibility. It is also very useful in learning to prioritize activities and planning how to make the best use of time.
Let’s go!

Xtreme Challenge

This 2nd of June,  we will have one of the most challenging competitions at school, filled with motivated runners who will give everything to win. A survival test that requires traversing mud pits, climbing walls, moving stones, carrying logs, climbing ropes, and more.

It is the 5th edition of our famous XTREME CHALLENGE, this year we’ll have a medieval version.

This race consists on  a circuit greater than 1 km. and at least an hour and a half of obstacles, tests, and challenges in which the teams will have to demonstrate several skills to win and face other teams.

Each team at the bases will compete with an oponente to ensure the victory at the end of the race.

The Xtreme Challenge Medieval Race will have three categories in which everybody  from the youngest to the oldest member can participate. The intention is to have a race where all families and friends enjoy an extraordinary day.

The circuit will have our classic mud obstacle, but there is no need to worry because the outdoor showers will leave everyone clean and ready to enjoy the event.
In addition, there will be a rest area where you can have refreshments, sunbathe  or relax in the shade of the tent.

Do not miss it, registration will begin on  April 29 through  May 24, check more information click here

Our Actions today, tomorrow's present

This past Friday April 12th, we celebrated the 4th JFK Environmental Fair, and once again it was a great success due to the participation of our school community! With Miss Luza’s leadership, different projects and proposals were presented based on our central theme “Our Actions Today, Tomorrow’s Present”. The students learned from their teachers about environmental impact and sustainability and worked on interesting expositions. We also had guests who gave conferences, sold handcrafted or organic products, among other things. Thanks to all the volunteer moms who donated cakes and cookies for our bake sale, thanks to this, $5,756 will be destined to the Jaguar Conservation Project. And again, thanks to all the teachers, students and volunteers who participated because in addition to the enjoyment, it brought great learning to our children!

Coffee Talk: Living Inquiry
Are you aware of how much sugar your family consumes on a regular basis?

Would you like to learn more about how avoid hidden sugar to feed your family a healthy diet?

You are invited to live an inquiry unit parallel to those of your child’s in this 3 part series on May 6th. May 13th and May 23rd 8-9:30 in the ES SUM room.

Christine Scharf, our PYP Coordinator will guide you in living the inquiry process. In this interactive workshop, you will experience teaching and learning using the strategies and tools our JFK students use as guided by their teachers. Through the JFK model of education, we will learn more about sugar and its impact on our family’s health so you can make more conscientious decisions what a balanced diet looks like in your home.

Middle School

Hello Middle School community!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful vacation. The energy is high here, I can see that the students and teachers are really glad to be back for this last part of the academic year.

This month is full of interruptions, so please keep that in mind. Wednesday, May 1st is Labor Day, so there are no classes. We also do not have school for May 10th, Mother’s Day, May 15th, Teacher’s Day, and May 24th for Professional Development day.

With all the schedule changes, please help your child keep his or her focus on academics. Remember to have your child check PowerSchool daily for homework assignments and reminders. Students will also continue to engage in project-based learning, collaboration, and other higher-order thinking tasks to finish off our school year with a bang!

Have a great week!

High School

Exciting month in High School!

We have an exciting month of May coming up in High School! This Friday, our 12th grade students begin taking their International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) examinations, starting with Business Management. I would like to thank all staff for four years of preparing our students to be successful on IB exams and at university. The high school team wishes the generation all the best in the coming weeks.

In the coming week, I will also be communicating dates and times for different presentations related to our new convenio with UNAM to share more exciting details for the 2019-2020 school year. I look forward to restarting “Coffee talks with Principal Bob” and seeing all parents soon!
