Happy festivities

Christmas means many different things to many people, and from around the world and throughout history, mid-winter has always been a time of festivities.

So, in case you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, St Lucia, Kwanzaa, the Lunar New Year, Hogmanay or just enjoy a mid-winter break, I wish you all a very peaceful and happy end to 2018 in the warmth of the love and friendship of your families and friends with you.

2018 has been a wonderful year for the school and I really look forward to working, studying and sharing with you all during 2019!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

Last Thursday the school staff had our traditional Christmas lunch. At this luncheon we also have a raffle of gifts donated to the school for the staff.
This year we had approximately 120 gifts to share out! We would all like to share our gratitude for this wonderful show of appreciation from our families and friends, and especially those companies who donated gifts.
Daewoo donated two refrigerators as gifts, and the other donors, in alphabetical order were: Alquileres Florida, Asesores en Emergencias, Centro de Copiado Daewoo, Fricomsa, Grafix, Grupo Toledo, Personalizate, Pipas de Agua, Seguros Inbursa , Tones y tintas, Turismo Maar.

Thank you to all of you, we are grateful for your kindness and generosity!

Happy holidays!

Christmas is the most important holiday of the year for many JFK families because of its spiritual importance. JFK celebrates the Christmas season because of the transcendental message that it sends to all of us regardless of our religion…the message of peace. From all of us in the Elementary School, may the blessings of the Christmas season fill your homes with joy, your hearts with love, and your lives with happiness. Travel safely during the vacation, or enjoy the coziness of home in Querétaro with your loved ones close to you. Happy holidays JFK!

Middle School

Happy holidays and see you next year!

I feel like time has been flying by! As we all prepare for a well-deserved rest in this holiday season, I would like to share some things that I have learned in the past few months here at Middle School.

JFK students’ enthusiasm for learning is contagious...I can’t help but smile when I go into any classroom! Whether they are doing a walking review in math, or a congressional hearing in humanities, or using video and black lights to show what juggling would look like on Mars, or designing the next great simple machine board game, they are truly engaged in all steps of the inquiry cycle of the MYP.

I am truly grateful and also humbled by the expertise, kindness, and collaboration of our Middle School team: teachers, psychologists, administration, and coordinators. Having children in Middle School isn’t easy, and the support we have from home is apparent every day with the way our kids are maturing and making the right decisions. I send a special thank you to our Parents’ Association for the kind holiday gifts to our teachers.

I also want to acknowledge all the Middle School families. Whether it’s with family activities of Social Service, or the fun lunchtime events our Parents’ Association organizes, the keen interest our parents take in academic progress, setting limits with technology at home, or helping students organize their study habits, it is clear to me that my job wouldn’t be possible without our Middle School families.

As a team, we work hard everyday to make sure that Middle School is a place where young people choose the right paths towards adulthood...and have a great time doing it! I wish you all a wonderful holiday, full of joy and rest...and I will see you “next year.”

High School

See you next semester!

I would like to wish all high school staff, students, and parents a wonderful winter vacation. We’ve accomplished so much, and we have a brand new colorful, beautiful patio to return to in January.

Thank you for leading, serving, and creating beauty with me during the first semester!
