It was a lovely experience to have visitors from the IB World Community at our school this week. We look forward to receiving their report in a few months and sharing it with you.

2nd. National Health Week 2019
We would like to inform you that we have the 2nd annual National Health Week where the application of the vaccine against Human Papilloma Virus for 5th grade girls is the main focus this time around. Also, worm parasite prevention medicine (abendazole) will be available for all children from PF to 5th grade. This Campaign will be carried out by the Health Sector of the government.

In order for your child to receive this benefit, the parent or guardian must print the respective form (teachers will upload it on PowerSchool), fill it out with all the information, sign it and hand it in to your child's teacher.

This visit will take place on our School on Thursday, May 30th.

Middle School

Student's Day Dance

Hello Middle School Community,
We had an awesome time on Friday at the Students’ Day Dance, thanks to the amazing decorations, delicious tacos and sweets, and great tunes. Special thanks goes to our Student Council and Miss Lupita for all the planning and advertisement of the event, and to our very own Parents’ Association for their contributions. A circus themed-night boasted foosball and air hockey tables, a popsicle cart, and colorful decorations.

This is another short week, and we have our third Thursday’s fundraising event during lunch for the Piggy Bank Challenge. Look out, because 6C is in the lead right now! Remember to avoid selling gum or any drinks with caffeine, please. Let’s keep it up to help make an amazing new plaza in front of the library.

We have our second Internal Event coming up Thursday, May 23rd for MiddleMUN, with two committees and even the participation of 5th grade pages! Thanks to Miss Tania, Miss Raisa, and Miss Ana for organizing and helping the delegates debate very important global topics.

Friday is PD day for our teachers, so enjoy your long weekend, students. As you are making your end-of-course plans, please keep in mind that Middle School students will be in classes until 11:30 on June 21.

Have a great week!

High School

Discover the extraordinary in you

Over the past two weeks, I’ve presented the Discover the Extraordinary in You High School model to different generations based on our new convenio with UNAM. It has been really rewarding to see the energy and enthusiasm coming from our students - an almost Elementary School-like excitement and curiosity for learning. Thank you for your support and trust this year in High School.

There are still two more important presentations this month regarding changes next year:

  • 9th Grade Parents - Wednesday, May 22nd from 8:00-9:30 am in the Elementary Multipurpose Room
  • Study Abroad Families - Monday, May 27th from 8:00-9:00 am in the Elementary Multipurpose Room

*For any families planning on having their child study one year abroad and then return to JFK

I would also like to give a special thanks to NHS and its supervisor Ms. Veronica Diaz for having worked hard throughout the year to raise $40,625 pesos for the Food Bank of Querétaro. It makes me feel inspired to know that our students are doing their part to support United Nations Sustainable Development Goal “Zero Hunger” in our own local community!

Shrek The Musical

The JFK 11th graders are preparing an incredible recreation of Shrek The Musical, featuring a three-meter dragon! Performances on June 5th and 6th.

Do not miss out on this fantastic adventure about love and friendship.
