Bulletin #1 | September 4th, 2019

Main Ofice

Welcome back everyone!

I sincerely hope that you’ve all had plenty of time for fun, family and travel during the summer. A lot of people have said that they stayed in Queretaro this summer, and I must admit I did too… what an incredible city to be in and to enjoy! We are so blessed to be living in such a wonderful place!

With the rain and traffic issues on Monday I was a little concerned for a damp start to the school year, but that soon became the usual pleasure of meeting new and returning families, students and teachers, so many smiles all over campus and that really does bring our campus energy back to its regular levels after a quiet summer!

The back to school meetings have also been a pleasure, and it is always exciting for the principals to share their plans and expectations for the year. We will very soon be sharing the program of Parent Talks, and our calendar of events is already online, so we can start planning our chances to participate in school events across campus.
Please don’t forget the opportunities available in JFK Sports and Extended Learning, so that you can sign up on time and guarantee a place.

I also thank everyone for their patience with the severe traffic issues due to the repairs of Sabinos… but take a deep breath, it will soon be finished and we will have a better road to drive through for many years!

Enjoy your first days back, and I look forward to meeting you around campus in the near future!

Preschool
  • Back to School Night. You are invited to Back to School Night next week.  All meetings will start at 6:00 PM in the Elementary Multipurpose Room and then transition to the Pre-School classrooms.  This is a great time to meet other parents and your classroom teachers, as well as learning about routines and events.  It is important to come alone and not with children.
  • K1 Monday, Sept. 9th
  • K2 Tuesday, Sept. 10th
  • K3 Wednesday, Sept. 11th

  • Morning Traffic. We understand that the traffic flow in the mornings is not ideal and can cause frustration for everyone. We will have many staff members from Pre-School helping children enter from gate #3 on Pinos in the mornings. That will be the safest gate for Pre-School students to enter through.

Middle School
  • Sixth grade students will receive their Chromebooks for the recommended phase on Friday, September 6th. Teachers will be providing all students with rules and expectations. Families will also be given guidelines for use.
  • The first Flag Ceremony is on Monday, September 9th. Please make sure your child has his/her full uniform: gray shirt and blue pants. If he or she wears a jacket, it must be the JFK uniform jacket. JFK Sports hoodies or team jackets are not the official school uniform that students must wear to honor our countries and our flags.
  • The first House points announcement will also occur on September 9th.
  • Please remember that our students should come to Middle School dressed as students. Parents please help us in not allowing your child to wear: ripped jeans, shorts that are shorter than the length of their arms placed to the side, spaghetti straps, shirts that show the midriff, and any clothing that makes reference to drugs or alcohol. Violations of the dress code will receive a Stage 2.
