Time to celebrate the process and the results of the IB Evaluation Visit
Last Wednesday, The IB Continuum Evaluation visit came to an end. We all feel happy and proud to be part of such a great community. The process and the results of the visit are worth celebrating, and while we await for the written report that we will receive in two or three months, we share with you that The IB visiting team said we have an impressive Programme Development Plan that would be worth sharing with other schools so that they can learn from our process.
Here are some of the things that principals, coordinators, teachers and students wrote about what we have learned with the Evaluation process.
- We have learned that we have a strong, united community of caring, reflective, risk-taking educators and inquiring, communicative, and balanced students.
- We have learned that there is a lot to celebrate in what we have accomplished and that our mission, vision, and key priorities shine a light on where we want to go.
- We have learned that reflecting on teaching in a collaborative manner is a really powerful way to examine our practices and move forward together.
- We have confirmed that our school is staffed with professionals who enjoy teaching, learning, sharing together and taking risks to provide meaningful moments for our students. As we continue on this journey towards achieving the extraordinary, We are confident that we will face future challenges with the same enthusiasm, excitement, and inspiration that we have used in this process.
- We have learned that JFK is like a great machine in which each one of us is a fundamental piece so that the machinery can work correctly, and its main objective is the learning and well-being of our students.
- We have learned that we are on the right path of a never ending journey and the next steps along the way are more clear than ever.
- The meeting with IB members was a gratifying experience that led us to reflect on the variety of opportunities that JFK has to offer and the pride that comes with being part of this outstanding community. In fact, when the evaluators asked us to name areas of opportunity, it was difficult for us to choose something because, although there is always room for improvement, these areas of opportunity do not affect our experience at JFK or our growth as students and leaders.

Es hora de celebrar el proceso y los resultados de la visita de evaluación del IB
El pasado miércoles finalizó la visita de Evaluación del IB para todos los programas. Todos nos sentimos felices y orgullosos de ser parte de una comunidad grandiosa. Vale la pena celebrar el proceso y los resultados de la visita, y mientras esperamos el informe escrito que recibiremos en dos o tres meses, compartimos con ustedes que la Delegación Visitante del IB nos dijo que tenemos un Plan de Desarrollo de los Programas impresionante que valdría la pena compartir con otras escuelas para que puedan aprender de nuestro proceso.
Estas son algunas de las cosas que los directores, coordinadores, maestros y alumnos escribieron sobre lo que hemos aprendido con el proceso de Evaluación.
- Hemos aprendido que tenemos una comunidad fuerte y unida de educadores solidarios, reflexivos y audaces y de estudiantes indagadores, buenos comunicadores y equilibrados.
- Hemos aprendido que hay mucho que celebrar en lo que hemos logrado y que nuestra misión, visión y prioridades clave iluminan hacia dónde queremos ir.
- Hemos aprendido que reflexionar sobre la enseñanza de manera colaborativa es una forma realmente poderosa de examinar nuestras prácticas y avanzar juntos.
- Hemos confirmado que nuestra escuela cuenta con profesionales que disfrutan enseñando, aprendiendo, compartiendo juntos y siendo audaces para brindar momentos significativos para nuestros alumnos. A medida que continuamos en este viaje hacia el logro de lo extraordinario, estamos seguros de que enfrentaremos los desafíos futuros con el mismo entusiasmo, emoción e inspiración que hemos mostrado en este proceso.
- Hemos aprendido que el JFK es como una gran máquina en la que cada uno de nosotros somos pieza fundamental para que la maquinaria pueda funcionar correctamente, y su principal objetivo es el aprendizaje y el bienestar de nuestros alumnos.
- Hemos aprendido que estamos en el camino correcto de un viaje sin fin y los próximos pasos en el camino son más claros que nunca.
- La reunión con miembros de IB fue una experiencia gratificante la cual nos llevó a reflexionar acerca de la variedad de oportunidades que el JFK nos brinda y del orgullo que conlleva ser parte de esta comunidad sobresaliente. De hecho, cuando los evaluadores nos pidieron nombrar áreas de oportunidad, nos fue complicado elegir algo ya que, a pesar de que siempre hay espacio de desarrollo y mejora, estas áreas de oportunidad no afectan nuestra experiencia en el JFK ni nuestro crecimiento como estudiantes y líderes.
