Part of the content of the 9th grade Chemistry class is for students to learn how to determine the percentage calculation of the ingredients in a product.
As the final project of the course, the students elaborated their own antibacterial gel following a homemade recipe, obtained the percentage calculation of the ingredients and determined the effectiveness of the product.
For this purpose, the students followed the next method: all the samples were inoculated in microbial culture media and incubated at 35° for 24 to 48 hours in the HS Lab. They applied gel to one hand and not to the other, and then compared what happened in both cases.
Next, the product elaboration process is illustrated and after some of the obtained results.

Parte del contenido de la clase de Química de 9° es que los estudiantes aprendan a determinar el cálculo porcentual de los ingredientes de un producto.
Como proyecto final del curso los alumnos elaboraron un gel antibacterial siguiendo una receta casera, realizaron el cálculo porcentual de los ingredientes y determinaron la efectividad del producto.
Para ello, los alumnos diseñaron un método para llegar a alguna conclusión, todos tomaron muestras que fueron inoculadas en medios de cultivo microbiano e incubadas a 35°C durante 24 a 48 h en el laboratorio de HS. Los alumnos se aplicaron gel antibacterial en una mano y en otra no, y después compararon qué sucedió en ambos casos.
A continuación, se ilustra el proceso de elaboración del producto y después algunos de los resultados obtenidos.
