The PYP Exhibition was a wonderful success. The students started in March by learning about the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development. They worked in teams of classmates with similar interests and a mentor as they created questions and researched together.
They wrote an essay about what they learned and then chose any way they wanted to share what they learned with their audience. They presented to 5th graders and then 4th graders receiving feedback and improving their work each time. Students were nervous and excited to be able to present what they learned to their parents.
They also shared how they have grown in their ATLs - (Approaches to Learning: Self-management skills, Communication Skills, Social Skills, Research and Thinking Skills) and the attributes of the IB Learner profile. Parents and teachers were so impressed by how well they know themselves and where they are in their process of learning.
They showed themselves to be ready for MYP and Middle School! Congratulations 5th graders!

The PYP Exhibition fue un éxito total. Los estudiantes comenzaron en el mes de marzo, aprendiendo acerca de los objetivos globales para el desarrollo sustentable de la ONU. Trabajaron en equipo con compañeros que tienen intereses similares, así como con un mentor, creando preguntas e investigando juntos.
Los alumnos escribieron un ensayo cobre lo que aprendieron y eligieron la forma de presentarlo a su audiencia. Primero presentaron a los alumnos de 5° grado y después a los de 4°, recibiendo retroalimentación y mejorando cada vez su trabajo. Los estudiantes estaban nerviosso y emocioados de poder presentar a sus papás lo que aprendieron.
También compartieron cómo han crecido en sus ATLs (Approaches to Learning- Habilidades de Autogestión, Comunicación, Sociales, y de investigación y pensamiento) así como en los atributos del IB Learner profile. Los padres de familia y maestros quedaron impresionados por lo bien que los alumnos se conocen a sí mismos y dónde están en su proceso de aprendizaje.
Mostraron que están listos para el MYP y Middle School. ¡Felicidades a los estudiantes de 5° grado!
