Special Announcement
As multilingual educators, we encourage our students to share their culture and use their mother tongue to connect with the new language and/or languages that they are acquiring in SWAS. It is for this reason that we are very excited to announce that JFK has joined the WIDA International School Consortium. This is a great opportunity for us as a community to continue growing as professionals, monitoring and recording the great progress that our SWAS students made within our program.
WIDA is a well-renowned program among international schools and is considered a reliable source of information, particularly in language programs, as its assessments provide a clear picture of language growth
in the four language domains (speaking, writing, listening and reading).
We are certain that this will not only bring new opportunities to keep enhancing our program, but also allow us to make more very focused decisions on how to best support our students at an individual level.

Como educadores multilingües, alentamos a nuestros estudiantes a compartir su cultura y usar su lengua materna para conectarse con el nuevo idioma y/o idiomas que están adquiriendo en SWAS. Es por esta razón que estamos muy emocionados de anunciar que JFK se ha unido al Consorcio Internacional de Escuelas de WIDA. Esta es una gran oportunidad para nosotros como comunidad de seguir creciendo como profesionales, monitoreando y registrando el gran progreso que nuestros estudiantes de SWAS han hecho dentro de nuestro programa.
WIDA es un programa muy reconocido entre las escuelas internacionales y se considera una fuente confiable de información, particularmente en programas de idiomas, ya que sus evaluaciones brindan una imagen clara del crecimiento del idioma en los cuatro dominios de la lengua (hablar, escribir, escuchar y leer).
Estamos seguros que esto no solo brindará nuevas oportunidades para seguir mejorando nuestro programa, sino que también nos permitirá tomar decisiones más enfocadas sobre cómo apoyar mejor a nuestros estudiantes a nivel individual.
