The National Junior Honor Society is delighted and proud to have hosted the induction ceremony for the school year 2022-2023.
The purpose of the induction ceremony is to celebrate and welcome new members who seek the light of truth guided by the five pillars that conform this special group: Service, Character, Scholarship, Leadership & Citizenship.
The ceremony was curated by the advisers, Ms.Gaby Madrid and Ms. Andrea Sprowls, lead by our courageous President, Amanda Z. 8th grader, and wise heartwarming words given by the current members: Valentina G., Maité H., María F., Katya J., Emilio P. 7th graders, and Dania G., Jongyun I. 8th graders.
Families, the Leadership team and the Middle school staff, witnessed this rite of passage, as they heard the encouraging words of the current members as well as the commitment and promised of the new members. NJHS would like to share a wise fragment of the president's speech, Amanda Z., with all the JFK community since it is a lesson that can be applicable throughout life.
"Light serves as guidance when we are seeking something. It illuminates the path that we are going through and helps us see things with clarity. We often seek knowledge, which leads us to find the truth. Knowing the truth is a very powerful thing. When we know this truth, we need to acquire it to later be able to transmit it to others. That is why “truth is light” is NJHS’ motto. You can light your path and the path of others with the help of the truth. This is what it means to be an NJHS member. It means to be able to help others grow while simultaneously growing yourself."
Below, the names of our nine new members who have made the beautiful commitment of joining the National Junior Honor Society in order to fulfill what we all see and believe in this community; achieving the extraordinary and creating beauty. La National Junior Honor Society ( NJHS) está orgullosa de llevar a cabo la ceremonia de inducción para el año escolar 2022-2023.
El propósito de la ceremonia es celebrar y dar la bienvenida a los nuevos miembros que buscan la luz de la verdad guiados por los cinco pilares que conforman este grupo especial: Servicio, Carácter, Escolaridad, Liderazgo y Civismo.
La ceremonia estuvo a cargo de las asesoras, Ms. Gaby Madrid y Ms. Andrea Sprowls, encabezadas por nuestra valiente Presidenta, Amanda Z. estudiante de 8º grado, y sabias y conmovedoras palabras de los miembros actuales: Valentina G., Maité H., María F. ., Katya J., Emilio P. alumnos de 7.° grado y Dania G., Jongyun I. alumnos de 8.° grado.
Las familias, el equipo de liderazgo y el staff de Middle School fueron testigos de este rito de iniciación, al escuchar las palabras de aliento de los miembros actuales, así como el compromiso y las promesas de los nuevos miembros. NJHS quisiera compartir un sabio fragmento del discurso de la presidenta, Amanda Z., con toda la comunidad JFK ya que es una lección que puede ser aplicable a lo largo de la vida.
“La luz sirve de guía cuando estamos buscando algo. Ilumina el camino por el que vamos y nos ayuda a ver las cosas con claridad. A menudo buscamos el conocimiento, que nos lleva a encontrar la verdad. Conocer la verdad es algo muy poderoso. Cuando conocemos esta verdad, necesitamos adquirirla para luego poder transmitirla a los demás. Es por eso que “la verdad es luz” es el lema de NJHS. Puedes iluminar tu camino y el de los demás con la ayuda de la verdad. Esto es lo que significa ser miembro de NJHS. Significa ser capaz de ayudar a otros a crecer y al mismo tiempo crecer uno mismo".
A continuación, los nombres de nuestros nueve nuevos miembros que han hecho el hermoso compromiso de unirse a la National Junior Honor Society para cumplir lo que todos vemos y creemos en esta comunidad; logrando lo extraordinario y creando belleza. ¡Felicidades a todos!
