LMC Bulletin March - April

It is a pleasure to greet you and present you with a new issue of our LMC Bulletin! On this occasion we have two notices that we want to share with you:

• First we want to give notice of the "Library Week", which will take place from March 13 to 16. The activities program is available.
• Second is that we have sought a new presentation of the content on the main page, encompassing all the sections in a single carousel of images and index for a better visualization without having to scroll.

And now, we present the content for this bimester:

In our biographies section we have:

• Charles Chaplin, one of the most renowned filmmakers of the 20th century
• Pablo Picasso, a renowned plastic artist; already
• Eduardo Galeano, a writer, and journalist who clearly described the complex political and social situation in Latin America in his books and articles.

In our reading suggestions, we offer you:

• “Me and my cat?” and "Pablo the Artist", both written by Satoshi Kitamura and suggested for children.
• "The Cambodian Dancer" by Jan Brett. This reading is dedicated to children, however, due to the beauty of its illustrations and the message it contains, it is recommended for young people and adults as well.
• For boys and girls aged 10 to 14 we suggest Jamie Sumner's “Roll with me”, and for young people aged 14 to 18 “Bone Gap”, by Laura Ruby.
• For high school students and adults we suggest reading “Mujeres”, by Eduardo Galeano.

And in our Cultural section on this occasion, we present:

• 9 facts that will inspire you to take action on International Women's Day
• “Kurzgesagt” / “In a nutshell” / “Said in short”, (in German, English, and Spanish respectively), a YouTube site dedicated to the dissemination of science, space, technology, biology, history, and philosophy through animations. As a sample, we include a couple of his videos: “What is something?” and "The origins of humanity"

Boletín LMC Marzo – Abril

¡Es un gusto saludarlos y presentarles una nueva emisión de nuestro Boletín! En esta ocasión tenemos dos avisos que deseamos compartir con ustedes:

• Primero queremos dar aviso sobre la “Library Week”, que se llevará a cabo del 13 al 16 de marzo. El programa de actividades ya está disponible.
• Y el segundo es que hemos buscado una nueva presentación del contenido en la página principal, englobando todas las secciones en un solo carrusel de imágenes e índice para una mejor visualización sin tener que dar “scroll”.

Y ahora sí, les presentamos el contenido para el presente bimestre:

• Charles Chaplin, uno de los cineastas más renombrados del siglo XX
• Pablo Picasso, connotado artista plástico; y a
• Eduardo Galeano, escritor y periodista que describió de forma muy clara la compleja situación política y social de América Latina.

• “¿Yo y mi gato?” y “Pablo el Artista”, ambos escritos por Satoshi Kitamura para el público infantil.
• “The Cambodian Dancer”, de Jan Brett. Esta lectura está dedicada a niño, sin embargo por la belleza de sus ilustraciones y el mensaje que contiene es recomendable para jóvenes y adultos también.
• Para los chicos y chicas de 10 a 14 años sugerimos “Roll with me” de Jamie Sumner, y para jóvenes de 14 a 18 “Bone Gap”, de Laura Ruby.
• Para jóvenes de preparatoria y adultos sugerimos la lectura “Mujeres”, de Eduardo Galeano.
